More 4H

This is kinda an In Process Post...

My Middle son is in Quilting for 4H - This unit was to design your own quilt.... so he did.

He had fun, I think he enjoyed the drawing more than the actual piecing.... and LOVED the quilting. He likes my power tools.... ( R'oh, Owh, Rowh  _ think Tim the toolman taylor)

Even though the Accucut was out....
I made him learn the rotary way for the borders.
He used the Accu-cut for the Flying geese though
That is a fun Die!!

Then he put it on the Long Arm
Ignore the vacuum in the back - I was deep cleaning while he was working
And then we remembered he needed photos for the record book...
Oops

Below is his finished top
It is before quilting....

We will get to the fair a lot this week
So we will see how he did.....

And get a finished quilt photo.... we sort of forgot that as we ran to the interviews

Fluffy Flannely Quilts

It is that time of year again, where a LOT of my personal stuff takes a side line. It's all good, it's a part of life, and it only makes me LOVE my personal time oh SEW much more!!!

Between my real job ( Quilting for Clients)( Which I TOTALLY LOVE btw)  and my Life job ( Ranching/4H-ing) with the hubby and kids.... my personal quilting spot.... is sort of ..... well..... organized!....
Usually there are tons of piles on it ;-)

So!!  Back to the flannely Quilt!
This is a client quilt - made out of all 10 inch squares
It was SOOOOo Soft!!

Here is a close up of the back - I did florally quilting, trying to pull out the florals from the top.

And this lovely scrap quilt is the Fluffy one!
We used a Quilters Dream Puff so it would be more fluffy!

That batting sure allows the texture to shine!!

Even though I don't have a personal finish this week - I thought it would be okay to share two Clients finishes ( and yes - I did get their permission )  It's nice to revel in the quilty goodness!

I'll be linking up to some other Friday Finishes - as soon as they all wake up lol ( early rising is getting the normal around here!)

Oh Confessions of a Fabric Addict  Is awake!!

RSC Red's

I am a little late in the game on the Reds.... BUT!! I am getting there!

I have dug out all the Red 30's prints and they are all trimmed up to 2 1/2 inches!!!  I am ready to sit and do some stitching..... Which will have to wait just a bit - but I am ready!

I did make the executive decision to not include the Christmas 30's prints.  So I will have to come up with something for those - but, well, they didn't mix well with these.

My dog and I took a walk and when we came back she was on high alert
"Look Momma, those big dogs got out.... More are coming Momma!
I'll protect you"

She loves me that way

This guy was my riding buddy
I laughed because
I haven't mastered the art of sitting on a moving animal
while shooting a moving animal
