A Modern QOV

Whoo Hoo - this is my 12th QOV top this year.   I decided to try a Modern Twist on it, and leave lots of Negative Space... I even have a quilting idea.... I am so excited.

It is really dark here tonite, and some of our lights burned out last night. I am too lazy to drive to town to get new bulbs, so it's sort of weird lighting tonite....

But I took 12 of the Scrappy Trip blocks and made this!!!  I even have a backing ready to go Thanks to Patty, from our Sew Day, she took a ton of fabric and made me 6 backings!!

I also want to tell you about the Quilters Christmas Party going on over at SewCalGal. So go check it out, and come back on Sunday.... for I have a story to tell ( but you knew that right?)

And If you.
WANT TO WIN A PRIZE?

Win a Door Prize by coming to the Quilter's Christmas Party on December 9th.  PR Angels are needed to help spread the word and greatly appreciated.  On December 9th SewCalGal will host the party, with a linky.  Bloggers and non-bloggers will be able to participate.  You can share insights on your favorite Christmas memory, what you are making for gifts and/or household decorations this year, tips, tutorials, just about anything you can think of that is fun and has a Christmas Party theme. And, posts that share insights about anyone in your family (or family history) that has served in the Military is also welcome! But your post needs to be dated December 9th, the party link will be open for 24 hours, and your post needs to show that you are participating in the Quilter's Christmas Party hosted by SewCalGal with a link back to the party.

Oh!!!  And I finished FINALLY the little blanket that I was working on.  I guess the delays weren't all that bad - but I really wanted it done quickly.

I tried to quilt in some things, like his football number, and words. Just some fun things

And this is the back - I think I fell in love with this fleece. I see more of it coming into my house in the future.

I will be linking up with CrazyMomQuilts.blogspot.com and Confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com

Enjoy!! Hope to see you back on Sunday!!

Love the quilting on this special quilt. Neat idea to quilt words into it and it looks like you didn't quilt over his messages. He'll love this quilt.

LOVE IT! I can't wait to see how you quilt this one! Congrats on your 12 in 12! Will there be a 13 in 13 challenge? LOL

Love how you are making the trip around the world blocks go farther. I was thinking you might try using sashing so you don't have to match up all those seams, especially since you have lots of different seam allowance with those donated blocks.
I received my lovely fabrics last week. A very welcome gift as I lost the sight in one of my eyes last weekend and I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself. Thank you so much for the great fabrics.
