design wall Monday

What a difference a day makes... yesterday was 82 and sunny, and last night the big winds came in, and now its 40 and the temps are supposed to drop.... I don't mind that - I JUST WANT RAIN.... so do some rain dancing alright??

I played too much yesterday - got 4 horses ridden, and worn out, and got the others all cleaned off - which of course it why its getting cooler - kind of like washing your car - I tempted fate LOL!!

But my Friday Procrastination Project got another row sewn on and is on the design wall -

Its a strippy Quilt - I used the MaryQuilts pattern this time ; you can find it here
I was given a bag of fabrics and so... I thought I would sew up a sample and then make kits out of the rest of it. I think I can get about 5 more tops like this. They measure 41 x 56 when they are done.
I know that not QOV size - but we also have an Honor Flight that goes twice a year, and they give quilts out to the veterans, they are a little short for the next flight - so I thought maybe a few tops might help.

Plus - If I ever finish it.... I can figure out the measurements for borders and make them QOV size ( 55 x 65)  .... I'm just so full of info aren't I? LOL

I like the look of that! Looks masculine. I am using that same pattern right now for a charity quilt. I might try it with more grown up fabrics for a QOV! Thanks for sharing.

What a great pattern!! I'm sure going to have to make a few of these....I'm trying HARD to downsize that room full of fabric that I have!!

I used Mary's pattern for the 4 tops I finished at retreat. 3 of them have borders. The inner border I cut at 1.5" and the outer border at 6.5". Of course each quilt top fluctuates in measurements because the fabric I used was all different widths and I had to cut them down to even up. I need to remeasure to see if I have to add another border. Love this pattern.
