From Michigan

From the Phillips family! Diana and her kids decided to help out in creating some Quilts of Valor - and they did a wonderful job. They made 4 quilts, and then quilted 5. The sampler type quilt is one that was made by a collaboration of quilters from MQX.

You can check out more about Diana at http://www.cozy-creations.com I have her book Flower Power and absolutely love it.

One of the coolest things about this project is meeting other quilters and people in the world. My family and I have now met people from St.Croix ( thanks Karen for the magazine and the postcards!) , Canada, the UK , Austrialia, and tons of quilters all over the U.S. I threaten now to visit people! ( just kidding. - sort of).

~
And the kids at school are more aware of geography too. They had to memorize all the states and the capitols this year. That is quite a feat. I am good in the western states - but the eastern ones... well there are a lot of them! So anyways, watching where all these quilts come from is certainly cementing geography in their brains. Course - they are all pretty smart anyways!

I am loving how quilting binds our community - our large community of giving hearts!

Thank you Phillips Family for the quilts - they are awesome.

Hope you all have a good evening!

I like your quilt challenge. Welcome to Quilt Bloggers. I was just recently in Colorado visiting my son and found a couple of great shops in the Niwot/Longmont area. I featured them on my blog recently. www.averyclaire.org. There is just something special about a red/white/blue quilt!!!
