The journey of quilts part 2

Here are some more of the Geneseo Quilt guild quilts that made there journey to us. Can you guess what is under all the quilts? I just loved looking at my house with all these quilts around!
~
Now I know - this is not quilt journey related.... but our journey home yesterday was a very challenging one, at least to me... I hate when my vehicles act up.

About 2 months ago my truck deserted us at the swimming pool. With 5 kids. I was not thrilled. I took all the kids to swim team, and when we decided that it was time to go home - the truck had other plans. Part of that plan was to get towed to the mechanic.... he likes me... I think I might have payed for his fall hunting trip....

Had a fuel pump replaced, got Mr Truck back and we headed out to get a tractor, used it, went to take the tractor back and Mr Truck would NOT start. So back to the shop it went. Put in a new battery.... brought it home and the NEXT day - Mr Truck WOULD NOT start....

So Mr Truck spent a week at the shop and they couldn't get it to not start.... well I succeeded last night! Two of my boys were singing in a group and had practice, so we headed to town, got gas, and went to the church. They sang their little hearts out for an hour and we hopped back in the truck - to "Burble burble sputter sputter Pfft"... and it was dead.

Did I mention how well I don't handle mechanical problems? I called Dear hubby and he said he would head out to get us, and then I called the tow truck... I think we are a first name basis by now!

The tow truck took my baby and my other babies and I waited for our ride. My sweet hubby realized that we were starving, there was nothing in the crock pot, and I think he figured that I was just a "little" cranky - he is a mind reader like that.... so he took us to Johnny Carinos for dinner.... The evening was saved!

Well except for the truck - but I think at the moment I am disowning it, and focusing all my attention on training a horse to pull a cart... I mean I am already paying for hay - so I should save gas money and use the horse right???? Yeah.... uh huh, right.....

Well I think I filled the page enough to showcase all these beautiful quilts. They Geneseo guild really did a wonderful job, and I am so tickled to add these to our collection! This brings us up to 180 quilts - our goal is 400 - so we are close to halfway there! With 5 more months to go I have this great feeling that the goal will be met!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Where oh where do you have room to store all of these quilts? I can't even imagine keeping this many quilts in my house! I would have to ship the kids out to live with grandma ;)

Did you kick the darned thing?? That's what you do with mules, right?

I think my favorite is the one with the blue Hunter's stars in it! Boy, they really did a nice job!

Lovely quilts! I, too, just went through some car problems. My list of problems seemed endless: crack in the manifold intake gasket, crack int he gas cap seal, new front brakes, new motor for back seat window, changed out transmission fluid. Ugh. $2,000.00 I spent. Double ugh.

GAH! I hate car troubles! Quick question for you ~ I have a top that I started working on for you, but I had to put it on the back burner for a bit. When do you need quilt tops by in order to get them finished in time? Do you have other quilters in your arsenal that I could send it to, or is it best to send it to you? I'm amazed to watch this whole thing come together. It gives me chills! :)

I could loan you my trusty steed "stripe" and you could be pulled in style! After all, he's covered with polka dots! Don't you just hate vehicle problems. I haven't had any in a LONG time, so I've got my fingers crossed. After all, it's winter in SD and I think my little car needs a new battery--just in case!
